
Theme for this year's Science Symposium: Space & Energy - India’s Perspective
The Hyderabad Chapter of Jadavpur University Alumni Association (JUAAH) has been organising an annual Symposium on Popular Science for school students since 2009. Previous editions of the symposia have been hugely interactive and appreciated by all participating students and teachers. This year, JUAAH organised our 13th Science Symposium and Innovation Workshop (XIII-SSIW) on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in association with CSIR-IICT’s JIGYASA program for school students at the CSIR-
Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) Auditorium, Hyderabad.
The symposium agenda covered the following –
- Talk on relevant scientific topics by two eminent scientists / speakers
- Dr. V. Ashok, Former Associate Director, VSSC, ISRO
- Dr. Tata Narasinga Rao, Former Director, ARCI & Visiting Professor, IIT Hyderabad
- Essay Competition
- Poster Competition
- Science Quiz
- Prize Distribution
We welcome 6-7 students (Classes VIII to XII) from approx 10-12 schools
- 1 team of 2 students for poster competition
- 1 team of 3 students for Science Quiz and
- An additional 1-2 students who can do individual submission for essay writing competition.
The students should be accompanied by 1 or 2 teachers. We encouraged schools to send those students who have not participated in our Science Symposium earlier.
