আজকাল আমি বড়ই উদাসীন হয়ে যাচ্ছি । কোনো কিছুতেই উৎসাহ পাই না বিশেষ । আসলে আসে পাশে সব সময় ভাল কিছু হলে ভালোর জন্য আকাঙ্ক্ষাটা বোধহয় কমে যায় । সেই যেবার সুভাষ এসে আমায় প্রোপোজ করে, আমি তখন হেসে নির্লিপ্তের মতো বলেছিলাম, “তাহলে আমায় কি করতে হবে ? ভালো বাসতে হবে ? আচ্ছা, ঠিক আছে ! বাসলাম না হয় ”।
